“The CHDM Review Course was valuable in so many ways. This course effectively supplemented my own studies for the CHDM. In addition, our time together provided an opportunity for me to meet other professionals in the hospitality digital marketing space and further discuss the important issues that are influencing our work and impacting our industry.” – Stuart Levy, PhD, CHDM, Professor, George Washington University

The Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer (CHDM) certification program, designed specifically for the hospitality industry, was created to certify candidates who are able to leverage their knowledge of the Internet marketing channel to maximize direct online channel revenues through lead generation, customer engagement and loyalty, online brand awareness and positive product exposure. Upon achieving this certification, you will exhibit expertise in most tactical areas of digital marketing, be proficient in creating basic strategic initiatives, utilize the analytical and management tools necessary to measure and communicate results, and execute and optimize effective digital marketing plans in a hospitality environment.
Back by popular demand, this face-to-face course is for candidates pursuing the Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer (CHDM) certification. The course covers the key concepts covered in the certification study guide, and is a great last “cram session” before the certification exam.
The next Review Course precedes the HSMAI Revenue Optimization Conference (ROC) and will be in Toronto on June 27, 2017:
- 12:30 am - 4:30 pm: Review Course
- 4:30 - 5:30: Optional opportunity to take the exam onsite
CHDM Review Course participants have the opportunity to take the CHDM exam onsite immediately following the course (while all the knowledge is fresh!). Note that you must provide your own laptop in order to take the exam onsite.
For the exam, you have 60 minutes to answer 50 multiple choice questions. A passing score is 70% or higher. (If you happen not to pass the test on the 21st, you will have the opportunity to take the exam again on another day with a retest fee of $45.)
If you wish to take the CHDM online exam onsite after the class, you must first apply for the certification. You will then be sent the digital study guide and access to the eLearning, on which the exam is based:
- Apply. Complete the application, include payment information for certification fee ($520 for members and $645 for non-members), and return it to HSMAI (firstname.lastname@example.org) on or before Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Print an application or complete the writable PDF application. If you have already submitted an application and been approved, you can skip this step and go straight to #2.
- Bring a laptop that is wireless enabled – the exam is online so you must be able to connect to the complimentary wifi access provided by HSMAI.
If you have questions, need additional information, or would like guidance on the process, Kathy Tindell, Program Director for HSMAI University, will assist you through the preparation. She can be reached at email@example.com or 703-506-2010.
The fee for the class does not cover the certification fees.
Registration includes the course itself, plus lunch. It does not cover the certification fees. It does include the cost of the mandatory study guide, which you will need to have read prior to the class in order to keep up in this fast-paced, intensive class. If you apply or have already applied for the CHDM certification, the $66 cost of the study guide will be refunded.
